Job Summary
Plan, supervise, coordinate, implement, manage and evaluate the fund development program and scholarship awards for the Foundation. Serve on President’s Cabinet.
Essential Functions
Cultivate and solicit donors and prospective donors through prospect research, personal contacts, relationship building efforts, and events. Develop and sustain individual, corporate, community, and foundation relations. Remain current on fundraising trends, ethics, laws, community fundraising events, national programs and fundraising activities with community colleges within Iowa.
Communicate the Foundation’s mission and plans to donors, potential donors, DMACC Foundation Board members, faculty / staff, students, alumni and friends of DMACC. Develop presentations and proposals to solicit donors. Provide stewardship and recognition to donors.
Supervise departmental staff, recommend personnel actions related to hiring, compensation, performance evaluations, training, leaves, discipline, grievances, work schedules and assignments, administers personnel and related policies and procedures per the collective bargaining agreements and the EEO / AA plan.
Assure that gifts are administered to honor the donors’ intent, investment policies, scholarship criteria, foundation by-laws, audit requirements, tax requirements, state requirements for charitable organizations and college policies. Develop, recommend, and administer the annual Foundation budget.
