Responsibilities Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a hospital setting Care for critically ill pediatric patients, including those with cardiac conditions 12-hour night or rotating shifts, 3 shifts per week from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00 Required to work every other weekend Must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays during the contract Required to float within scope of practice as needed Epic EMR used; Epic experience required Responsible for providing critical care and monitoring to pediatric patients, including those with complex cardiac needs Up to 40 hours of approved time off may be granted during the contract; no time off permitted in first two weeks Mandatory completion of orientation modules, up to 16 hours included during orientation Return staff must have a 12-month separation before being eligible to return, with a maximum of 365 total days on assignment No mile radius or local candidate restrictions apply for this unit Must provide copies of all required certifications for consideration Requirements Active VA or compact RN license required (pending license accepted, but must be in-hand by the Wednesday before start) BLS (Basic Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications required Pediatric cardiac experience preferred Two professional references required for consideration Nursys verification required BSN preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627067.
