Tax Operations Manager
Meta is seeking an experienced tax professional to support its tax operations team. This position will work on tax operations projects supporting the Company's tax provision and compliance processes, tax forecasting and analytics, and operational process improvements. Additionally, this role will support technology-driven initiatives that leverage data to transform tax processes, including provision & financial reporting, compliance, calculations, and analytics. The ideal candidate should have a record of progression and success in a Big 4 or in-house experience with a publicly traded, US multinational company. They should have hands-on experience and working knowledge of tax technical areas (Subchapter C, international tax, M&A) with the experience to apply such knowledge in reporting transactions on the provision and return, experience leading cross-functional projects, operate independently in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to automate processes and collaborate with numerous functional teams across the organization. The candidate will be expected to anticipate and surface issues, solve problems, recommend solutions, and exercise good business judgment while performing these functions.
Tax Operations Manager Responsibilities
- Support Meta's quarterly and annual global income tax provision calculations
- Manage tax provision processes including accounting for foreign operations, US international tax matters, uncertain tax positions, outside basis differences, and business combinations under ASC 740
- Document tax accounting positions and conclusions in clear, comprehensive technical memoranda
- Manage special projects, including reviewing transactions, managing external service providers, and presenting results
- Identify and assess process enhancement opportunities and lead implementation efforts
- Partner with US and international tax teams and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure full tax integration
- Advocate for improvements to systems and processes that will benefit the tax operations teams and our business partners
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (ex : business administration)8+ years of relevant tax experience in Big 4 and / or in a large, US multinational corporation(s)Solid tax technical skills and technical proficiency in ASC 740, especially accounting for foreign operations, US international tax matters, uncertain tax positions, outside basis differences, and business combinationsDemonstrated leadership and experience managing projectsClear communicator, experience running meetings effectively, and experience explaining complex concepts to a non-technical audienceExperience organizing large volume of information and identify automation opportunitiesExperienced computer skills utilizing Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and Google (GDocs, GSheets, GSlides, GDrive) applicationsPreferred Qualifications
Advanced degree with emphasis in taxationAnalytical skills, sense of ownership and accountabilitySelf-motivated and results-oriented, experience dealing with a high degree of ambiguity and drive clarity in key areasExperience collaborating with geographically distributed cross-functional teams to implement business processes in a global environmentExperience in financial systems (i.e., Oracle, Essbase, etc.), Alteryx and OTP provision is highly desirable
