You will join a team developing state-of-the-art general-purpose robots designed to operate in human spaces and with human tools. It is designed to work alongside humans, mobilize to human spaces, and manipulate the world around it.

The role

We're looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Apptronik, focusing on continuous improvement for our Apollo humanoid robot platform. In this role, you\'ll be responsible for driving design, process, and performance improvements across the entire robotic system, from individual components to the full-stack assembly. This position is ideal for a hands-on engineer with a passion for robotics and a proven track record of optimizing complex mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives for the Apollo humanoid robot, identifying and addressing design and manufacturing bottlenecks.
• Conduct root cause analysis on system failures, performance issues, and production inefficiencies to implement robust solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers, to integrate improvements seamlessly.
• Optimize mechanical designs for manufacturability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Design, prototype, and test new components and sub-systems to enhance overall robot performance.
• Develop and implement best practices for mechanical assembly, testing, and quality control.
• Document all design changes and improvements thoroughly, ensuring clear communication and knowledge transfer.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
