Overview
A private family office based in Princeton, NJ is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Systems Engineer to join its team of 22 professionals that support the firm. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining the firm’s Windows-based systems, network infrastructure, and cybersecurity environment.
This is a hands-on position requiring strong technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable managing backend systems and supporting end-users in a fast-paced, collaborative, and security-conscious environment.

Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain Windows-based infrastructure and hybrid environments (Azure AD / Entra ID)Support and enhance virtualization platforms (VMware) and network systems (Cisco switches, firewalls)Implement and maintain cybersecurity best practices across endpoints, cloud services, and internal systemsManage backups, disaster recovery, and system monitoring for uptime and performanceProvide advanced troubleshooting and user support for desktops, messaging, and VoIP systemsCollaborate with leadership and IT peers to evaluate and integrate new technologiesMaintain detailed documentation of infrastructure, processes, and configurationsParticipate in on-call rotation and off-hours maintenance as neededQualifications
7 years of hands-on experience in systems engineering or IT infrastructure supportBachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field preferredExpertise with Windows Server 2022, Windows 11, Azure AD / Entra ID, and hybrid Microsoft environmentsStrong knowledge of VMware virtualization, Cisco networking, and firewall administrationFamiliarity with cybersecurity frameworks and Zero Trust principlesExcellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skillsSelf-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or collaborativelyRelevant IT certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, VMware) preferredSOCIETY STAFFING
