Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level II Emergency Department position requiring a NE or compact RN license and advanced life support certifications.
Responsibilities
Work in a Level II Trauma Emergency Department with 27 bedsPatient population includes all ages with a broad range of emergency diagnosesSupport staff includes nurse aides, EMTs, and paramedics on each shiftPhlebotomy services are available for lab drawsUses Epic EMR for documentation12-hour night shifts with self-scheduling options; weekend requirement is every third weekend covering Friday and Saturday nightsHoliday coverage is required on a rotating basisNo floating required for this positionPass / fail exam on skills learned during orientation is required, with a minimum 90% passing scoreArtificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departmentsTime off requests must be submitted up front and limited to 7 days or less per 13-week contractFirst-time travelers will be consideredTeam structure includes support staff and comprehensive orientationDrivers license will be used to verify address for compliance with radius ruleRequirements
Active NE or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum of 2 years recent ER nursing experience requiredCurrent BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required; pending certifications not acceptedProven experience with emergency department patient care across all agesEpic EMR experience preferredDriver’s license must show residence at least 50 miles from facilityCandidates may not be currently or recently employed (within the last year) by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilitiesTwo professional references required : one supervisor from within the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the past 3 yearsBenefits
