Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position requiring a NM or compact RN license and strong telemetry and IV start skills.

Responsibilities Work in a hospital Med / Surg Telemetry unit within a Level I Trauma and teaching hospital

Patient ratio is typically 1 : 5, with possible increase to 1 : 6 during high census

Floating required to PCU, other Med / Surg-like floors, lower acuity units, and Emergency Department as needed

Day shifts are available, typically consisting of 4x12 hour schedules from 7 : 00 to 19 : 30

Weekend shifts required at least 2 times per 4-week schedule, may vary based on unit needs

Uses Cerner charting system

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Assignment in a hospital that operates at over 100% capacity

Expected to manage patient loads in a busy acute care environment

Scrub color is black and must be provided by the nurse

No on-call requirement for this position

More than 10 days of requested time off requires approval

Requirements Active NM or compact RN license (pending license accepted at time of consideration)

Minimum of 1 year Med / Surg Tele experience required

Current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required

Experience with IV starts and telemetry monitoring required

COVID vaccination required, with religious and medical exemptions considered if proper documentation is provided

No candidates residing within a 75-mile radius of the facility
