Physical Therapist - Acute - (PT - Acute)

Pay Rate : $2480.27 - $2717.74
Department : Physical Therapy
- Certifications Required : BLS & SD PT license
- # of patients treated per day : 6-8 patients per day; is dependent upon dept overall caseload. Unit Staffing : 3 PTs, 1PTA, 1 COTA, 1 OT & 1 SLP.
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients : Any post surgicals, orthopedics (total joints- knees & hips, ORIF, and more),neurologic (post stroke, parkinsons, MS, and more), sport medicine, and any complex medical.
- Acute Inpatient, Acute Rehab, Skilled, Outpatient? : Outpatient, Inpatient- swing bed, Assisted Living, and LTC / Skilled.
- What areas are they required to cover? : May be asked to float between outpatient, inpatient- swing bed, assisted living, and LTC / skilled . May be asked to see a patient in each area all in one day.
- Experience : Must have 2 years of experience with a license; does not count clinical experience. Prefer someone with LTC / Skilled Nursing experience. Prefer someone with experience doing long-term recovery therapy. (Ex : May see patients immediately post op to 1-2 months post op)
- PT Manager / Supervisor : Bob Fugate, PT, DPT, DOR
- Rehab Aides : 1 PTA, 1 COTA
- Shifts & Scheduling : DOR and Office Assistant make out schedule; no self-scheduling. 5- 8 hr shifts. Flexible start times between 0700-0900.
- Weekend Requirements : Occasionally (rare)
- Holiday Requirements : No
- Scrub Color / Dress Code : Any color scrubs or Business casual
- Department specific orientation : DOR provides orientation, typically 1 week; By week 2 travelers are expected to work a full patient load of 6-8 patients / day; Expected productivity is 75%.- Experience : Must have 2 years of experience with a license; does not count clinical experience. Prefer someone with LTC / Skilled Nursing experience. Prefer someone with experience doing long-term recovery therapy. (Ex : May see patients immediately post op to 1-2 months post op)
