Internal Audit Assistant
Location : Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid)
Salary : $55,000-$70,000

Our client is seeking an Internal Audit Assistant to help ensure readiness for audits, maintain thorough documentation, and coordinate effectively between internal teams and external auditors. This role is ideal for someone who values precision, accountability, and structure in their work.
Key Responsibilities of the Internal Audit Assistant Role
Prepare audit documentation, schedules, and supporting materials for review.
The Internal Audit Assistant will coordinate audit requests and communications between auditors and internal departments.
Track audit findings, follow-up actions, and ensure timely completion of outstanding items.
Assist with reconciliations, financial reporting, and compliance-related activities.
The Internal Audit Assistant will maintain accurate records of audit workpapers, checklists, and internal control documentation.
Update and distribute audit status reports and summaries for management review.
Support adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
The Internal Audit Assistant will provide administrative and organizational support throughout the audit cycle.
Preferred Qualifications of the Internal Audit Assistant Role
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
1-3 years of experience in accounting, audit preparation, or compliance support.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
