JOB SUMMARY

The Human Resources Specialist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including enforcing company policies and practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain and consolidate employee files / reports needed for manpower planning and business continue initiatives.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and / or sensitive matters to the appropriate department or manager.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prepare periodic management reports related to human resources and other reports that may be required by management.
  • Perform other assignments from time to time as directed by management.
  • Perform administrative duties as necessary i.e., making copies, filing, etc.
  • Gather and consolidates performance review ratings of assigned business operational units.
  • Maintain employee records.
  • JOB SPECIFICATIONS

    Education and Experience

  • High School graduate, or equivalent. Associate degree related to Business Administration or Human Resources is preferred, but not required.
  • At least three (3) years of human resource management experience preferred.

  • Other Qualifications

  • Computer Literacy :  Must be at least proficient if not achieved mastery in the essential Microsoft 365 Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams)

  • Physical Effort / Requirements :   While performing the duties of this job, the employee will :
  • stand / walk occasionally on the scheduled work shift.
  • lift, reach, pull, push, grasp and use hands occasionally.
  • bend and / or squat down occasionally on the scheduled shift.
  • climb, stoop and / or kneel rarely.
  • lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • need to see well enough to differentiate product quality parameters, read / compose email, reports, use the computer and be proactive to customers’ feedback affecting quality of service.
  • need to speak and hear well enough to give / receive instructions, feedback and communicate with employees, customers, and partners / vendors / suppliers.
  • be required to work irregular hours or varying work shifts schedules as necessary at work.
