PAYROLL MANAGER SALARY : $130,000-$160,000, depending on experience and skills. SCHEDULED HOURS : Full-time 35 hours per week. Monday through Friday, 9 : 30am - 5 : 30pm, plus overtime and holidays when necessary. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Job responsibilities / functions to include, but not be limited to :
- Manage the entire payroll process, including calculating wages, taxes, and other deductions, and coordinating the timely distribution of payments to employees.
- Provide technical support, training, and general backup for payroll operations, including hiring and training new payroll associates. Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to payroll staff. Manage workloads, conduct performance reviews, and foster a collaborative environment.
- Maintain in-depth technical and professional knowledge of the payroll function.
- Learn current payroll processes (non-union, and union including Local B751 Telecharge, Local 32BJ Security & Roving Crew, Local 30 Engineers, DC9 Painters, and Local 829 Billposters); develop and recommend modification to modernize and improve efficiency.
- Oversee and manage payroll system, including updating records, processing employee changes, and ensuring efficient data management. Check for accurate and complete data. In-depth knowledge of payroll system.
- Ensure successful implementation of new payroll systems / modules, providing requested information, configuration, testing, and training.
- Ensure the payroll process adheres to all federal, state, and local labor laws and tax regulations.
- Prepare accurate reports and maintain detailed payroll records for auditing purposes and management review. Create and run custom reports as necessary in ADP Reporting.
- Conduct internal audits of payroll data to verify accuracy and adherence to union contracts and labor laws. Provide documentation and support for external audits.
- Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies and issues, serving as a primary point of contact for payroll inquiries from employees and management.
- Maintenance and enrollment of commuter benefits plan and 401k plan for office employees including upkeep of employer and employee contributions to the 401k plan.
- Process monthly office Pension Plan payments and maintenance of participants.
- Work closely with Human Resources, Finance and Audit departments to ensure consistency in compensation policies, benefits, and reporting.
- Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping confidential information.
