Responsibilities
- Under general supervision, performs repair and maintenance on electronic patient care equipment, including electrical safety testing, installation, calibration and routine maintenance.
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience : Must possess a high school diploma or GEDMust possess an associate's degree in Electrical / Mechanical engineering, Biomedical Engineering Technology equivalent, OEM service training or CBET credentials are exceptedA minimum of two years' experience in biomedical engineering field performing maintenance on clinical medical equipmentExperience in the installation, testing and repair of such equipmentCourses in a curriculum teaching the characteristics in relation to configuration in AC / DC circuits, color code conventions used in component and wire marking, and knowledge of digital electronics / micro processing concepts, Boolean algebra and logical truth tablesMust possess knowledge of the principles and practices of Electronics or Biomedical Technology as applied to the calibration and repair of biomedical equipment and instrumentation with the abilities to perform schematic analysis, interpretation of equipment malfunctioning and soldering techniquesMust have knowledge and abilities to effectively use electronic and pneumatic measuring devicesDemonstrate the abilities to use volt / ohm / ammeter, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, function generators, DC power supplies, soldering and desoldering tools, electrical safety, defibrillator, electrosurgical analyzer and patient simulatorsFamiliarity with basic anatomy and Physiology as applied to the use and operation of clinical and radiology equipmentBenefits
