Position Summary As a paralegal in our Financial Industry Group, you will support attorneys with structured finance and capital markets transactions. Your role will focus on assisting with the documentation and execution of deals, including drafting and reviewing transaction documents and coordinating filings and closings. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of transactions in a fast-paced legal environment. Job Duties and Responsibilities Assist in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing key transaction documents and offering memoranda. Work closely with attorneys to manage the various components of transactions, such as preparing for closings, coordinating document flow, and tracking milestones to ensure deadlines are met. Maintain clear communication with attorneys, clients, counterparties, and external law firms to ensure the smooth progression of transactions. Track the status of ongoing deals, manage checklists, and ensure that transaction files are kept up to date. Help the team stay aligned on deliverables and ensure proper documentation. Legal assistant or paralegal certification is a plus. Experience : Interest in the legal profession. 1-3 years of experience in a legal assistant or support role, particularly in corporate finance, structured finance, or capital markets, is a plus. Skills : Strong research, writing, and analytical skills. Ability to draft, review, and organize legal documents. Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently or as part of a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure. Professional demeanor with a collaborative, problem-solving approach. Working Conditions : Works in typical office setting and / or remotely. Occasionally called upon to work hours in excess of your normal daily schedule. Pay Ranges : This represents the presently anticipated low and high end of Reed Smith’s pay range for this position. Actual pay may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience. This is a non-exempt position. The hourly wage range for this role is $39.48 to $44.10, with an estimated annual compensation range of $77,000 to $86,000, based on expected hours.
