We are seeking a dedicated Hospitalist Medicine Physician for a locum tenens position near Missouri City, Texas. This opportunity is perfect for a board-certified or board-eligible physician looking to work in a new and dynamic program. The role involves working closely with a team of healthcare professionals in a hospital setting to deliver high-quality patient care.

Position Details

  • Location : Near Missouri City, Texas
  • Start Date : ASAP
  • Duration : Ongoing
  • Schedule :

7 days on, 7 days off rotation

  • Day shifts : 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 00 PM (5 physicians, 2 APPs)
  • Swing shift : 10 : 00 AM - 10 : 00 PM (1 physician)
  • Night shifts : 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM (1 physician, 1 APP Nocturnist)
  • No on-call duties for locum tenens providers

    • Responsibilities

  • Patient Care : Provide comprehensive care to hospitalized patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of a variety of medical conditions.
  • Team Collaboration : Work alongside a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Documentation : Utilize the hospital's EMR system for patient documentation and communication with the healthcare team.
  • Orientation and Training : Participate in a one-day orientation, including shadow shifts to familiarize with the facilitys protocols and EMR system.

    • Candidate Requirements

  • Board Certification : Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine (IM) or Family Medicine (FM).
  • Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospitalist medicine or a similar setting.
  • Licensure : Must have an active medical license in Texas or be eligible to obtain one.
  • Credentialing : Emergency privileges available; case logs required for credentialing.

    Number of beds : Information not provided

  • Average Census : 150-160 patients
  • Daily Admissions : 3-4 patients
  • Consults : Level 2 Trauma Center
  • Patient Population : Mixed rural / urban
  • Acuity : All types of cases, including trauma
  • Support Staff : Fully staffed with 2 APPs during the day and 1 APP at night

    Average daily rounding : 18-20 patients

  • ICU Rounding : Yes, ICU consults required
  • ICU Status : Open ICU
  • Procedures and vent management : Not required
