About The Position

Certifications : BLS, ACLS

Must-Have :

• At least 2 years of ICU experience.
• Strong skills and experience in PCU / Med Surge if worked in larger facilities.
• Ability to titrate drips including sedation and vasopressors.

Description :

The position involves working in a combined acuity unit catering to various patient levels of care.

The unit has 10 beds with varying nurse-to-patient ratios based on acuity.

Ratios are 1 : 2 for ICU, 1 : 4 for PCU, and 1 : 5-6 for MST.

In the absence of nurse aides, RNs may care for 3 patients while providing primary care to PCU and MST patients.

Common diagnoses include sepsis, respiratory arrest, and post-operative complications.

Remote monitoring technology is utilized, and RNs must be proficient in reading EKG strips.

The unit supports respiratory therapy equipment such as vents, CPAP, and BiPAP.

Shifts are scheduled as 12-hour shifts, including every other weekend and a holiday rotation.

RNs are also expected to float to other units to maintain competency in caring for a variety of patients.

The dress code allows any scrub color except camouflage.

Charting is done using the Cerner system.
