Practice Manager I
The Practice Manager I is responsible for directing, supervising and coordinating daily activities of a Physician Practice. The Manager may serve as the primary leader of a mid-sized office, and may also be responsible for a Practice Supervisor at their location. The Practice managed is typically multi-specialty with up to 10 providers. Practice Manager I's often work in an office with low to moderate complexity based on serviced provided and with patient volumes averaging less than 400 visits weekly.
Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Supervises Physician Practice operations to ensure prompt and courteous treatment of patients as well as other aspects of the Practice. Assists in developing policies and procedures in conjunction with upper management to maintain the effective and efficient operation of the Practice. Manages personnel issues including new employee training, performance management and disciplinary actions. Interviews new employee prospects and participates in hiring decisions for designated office. Responsive to the needs and requests of providers and escalates issues to Managers and / or Administrators where appropriate. Performs annual written performance appraisals of support staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Customer service focused. Responsible for maintaining a safe, efficient and welcoming environment for Jefferson patients and staff.
High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor degree preferred. Typically requires at least 2 or more years of experience in a Physician Practice or Healthcare setting. Management / Supervisory experience preferred.
Understanding of the necessity and value of teamwork, ability to work effectively as part of a team. Knowledge of and ability to use office electronic calendaring software and capabilities. Knowledge of the organization's customer support policies, standards and procedures and ability to guide customers on all company interactions. Knowledge of and ability to adhere to existing customer support service agreements and the associated support levels and activities. Knowledge of and ability to use office support tools available on the desktop (e.g., word processing, email, presentation software and spreadsheets). Knowledge of and ability to use office electronic mail software and capabilities.
