Team Leadership Heather Kartchner, CRNA–Advanced Practice Anesthesia Director for NAPA's Virginia Region Prior to joining the regional leadership team, Heather Kartchner served as Chief CRNA at Henrico Doctor's Hospital in Richmond, VA. She acquired early leadership training at The United States Military Academy at West Point; she later earned her BSN from Brigham Young University. In 2008, she earned her MSN from Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed the NAPA SELECT program in 2017. When not working, Kartchner enjoys canyoneering, reading, and competing in triathlons.Advanced Practice Anesthesia (APA) leaders are unique to NAPA. As an integral part of our regional infrastructure, APA leaders are Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists who foster stability and collaboration among local facilities and teams throughout our organization. As an APA leader, Kartchner supports the Virginia Region. Like other APA leader colleagues, she is a voice for local clinicians, along with being a leader who hears, understands, and values those on our clinical team. Team Highlights Requirements Responsibilities Provide anesthesia care to patients at various facilities throughout the Virginia Region, as determined by NAPA's regional leadership team Pre-anesthesia assessment Obtains and / or verifies patient consent Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
