Volt is immediately hiring for “ ADMIN FUNCTIONAL SUPPORT 2” in “ Newport News VA”.

Job Summary :

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Administrative Support Specialist to assist with day-to-day functions across areas such as finance, purchasing, human resources, or within a specific business or technical unit.
  • This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate data, supporting team processes, and ensuring smooth operations across departments.

This is a 12 month with possible extension opportunity.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Collect, track, and verify data and information from various sources
  • Compile, review, and analyze data for use in reports, presentations, and decision-making
  • Utilize specialized software and tools to generate statistics, timelines, tables, and correspondence
  • Create and maintain documentation related to internal procedures and workflows
  • Contribute to process improvements to enhance team efficiency
  • Provide administrative support and share relevant information with other teams
  • Manage and maintain an engineering document vault (e.g., drawings, supplies, records)
  • Support cross-functional teams and interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders
  • Must-Have Qualifications :

    Hard Skills :

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Experience working with telecom providers, carrier ordering systems, and associated processes
  • Basic knowledge of telecommunications network infrastructure, including LEC / CLEC and IXC connectivity
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns and root causes
  • Critical Skills :

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to engage with all levels of staff
  • Proactive problem-solving and the ability to ask thoughtful questions to gain clarity
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
  • Willingness to share knowledge and support team development
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to treat others respectfully and professionally
  • Open to team engagement, collaboration, and change
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures
  • Experience supporting engineering teams or technical environments
  • Comfortable managing confidential information and working in a secured environment
  • Basic Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of additional education and / or relevant work experience
  • Pay Rate : - $20 / hr.-$25 / hr.
