Asador Bastian is a Chicago-style chop house inspired by the iconic grill houses (“asadors”) of San Sebastián, Spain. We are seeking a Garde Manger Line Cook to join our Back-of-House team. This role focuses on refined cold preparations, precise plating, and showcasing the artistry of Basque cuisine.
What We’re Looking For :
- 2 years of experience in a fine dining or upscale kitchen preferred
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of cold prep and composed dishes
- Detail-oriented, clean, and organized work habits
- Passion for Basque cuisine and a desire to grow within the industry
- Food Handler Certification required (within 30 days of hire)
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
Prepare, portion, and plate cold dishes, dessert salads, crudos, and composed plates to fine dining standards.Execute mise en place with precision and organization, ensuring readiness for service.Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and order of all prep areas, stations, and refrigeration units.Follow recipes and plating guides with consistency and accuracy.Uphold quality and freshness of ingredients through proper handling and storage.Assist in inventory management and communicate product needs to chefs.Work collaboratively with the culinary team to support smooth kitchen operations.Follow all sanitation and safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health codes.Support other kitchen stations as directed by Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine.
