Your Impact

The principal purpose of the AP Operations Specialist is to assist with implementing and overseeing programs that maximize profits and minimize liability for the Company by protecting the people and assets. Under the direct supervision of the Manager of AP Technology, this role is responsible for assisting with all aspects of AP Technology research, deployment & implementation.

This individual will also assist with maintaining the functional business relationships with IT, Sourcing and service vendors. They will help hold business partners and vendors accountable to their support / contractual obligations through daily and weekly interactions, as well as quarterly business reviews. The role includes assisting with architecting camera, burglar and fire systems in all new Lowe's locations, including Supply Chain, and ensuring that Lowe's AP systems and technologies evolve to support growing business requirements.

The position supports test and learn programs, identifies emerging technologies, and works with various Lowe's business groups to establish business requirements on all AP technology moves. It will also assist IT in soliciting funds, managing, and following up on AP technology projects. The role facilitates the information cascade of programs and events from SSC and field personnel and communicates updates to the Manager of AP Technology for direction and critical decisions. It works closely with Regional Asset Protection and Safety Directors / Managers and SSC-based support functions to identify needs and provide immediate field support.

What You Will Do

  • Work closely with IT and other business groups on managing AP Technology projects initiated by AP or other Lowe's business groups
  • Serve as subject matter expert in CCTV systems, including hardware and software aspects
  • Act as SME in Video Management Solutions (VMS), understanding current providers and industry trends
  • Have a firm understanding of Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems and related reporting
  • Understand use cases and versions of Public View Monitors at Lowe's locations
  • Assist in building requirements for Self-Checkout Video projects and rollout of technology to support shrink mitigation
  • Maintain basic knowledge of Fire / Burg Systems and their network integration
  • Collaborate with IT / Audit on PCI Compliance initiatives
  • Work with Merchants on product resets affecting CCTV
  • Identify emerging technology and assist with test & learn activities
  • Assist in all aspects of Project Management (NDA, proof of concept / value, training, deployment, follow-up)
  • Assist with Annual Forecasting (Capital & Expense) and managing expense lines
  • Support live view programs from a CCTV perspective and manage AP technology requirements for resets
  • Coordinate vendor / supplier interfaces and ensure site locations receive quality service
  • Assist with new site reviews (Stores, RDC, XDT, DFC, storage facilities, pop-ups) and blueprint reviews
  • Facilitate associate training on AP technology and coordinate with field and learning teams
  • Assist with Statement of Work (SOW) development, vendor contracts, renewals and RFPs
  • Manage key vendor relationships and on / off-site vendor liaisons
  • Communicate project timelines and team efforts to senior leadership as needed
  • Support budgeting and cost-containment efforts
  • Educate business groups regarding AP technology to influence capital / expense funding
  • Provide mentorship and open feedback to team members
  • Coordinate contract reviews and ensure effective vendor management

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5 years of work experience in Asset Protection
  • Preferred Skills / Education

  • Experience analyzing business documents (P&L, exception reports, etc.)
  • Experience in an omni-channel retail environment
  • Experience using physical security systems
  • Experience conducting quality reviews / audits
