Job Overview
The service technician is the right-hand man of the service foreman. They are responsible for cleaning and organizing the service truck’s tools and materials for ease of access and weight distribution to reduce the shifting of materials while in-transit. They must unload all trash and nonessential materials from the service truck and reload with all needed materials during the Monday morning foreman meeting for the upcoming week. The service technician is responsible for maintaining the PPE at all times and ensuring it is in serviceable condition and readily available. They are responsible for on-site housekeeping, ensuring materials and tools are organized, and all debris is secured away from the immediate work area. Additionally, they must learn the names and usages of all basic tools and materials used in roofing repairs. The service technician should learn and understand what materials and equipment are needed for a particular scope of work. They should be able to retrieve and get it to the work area without being specifically requested to do so. To promote efficiency, they should be able to learn the basic steps to common repairs and the role they play in executing that repair. To increase knowledge and efficiency, the service technician is expected to take an active role in getting hands-on training with tools and materials to be able to conduct the most common repairs without the need for constant supervision. They are to ensure all debris, tools, and equipment are removed from the roof at the end of the day and items are properly secured in the service truck.
