Budget & Planning
Develop and manage the annual service budget.Monitor daily progress and monthly performance.Create and execute annual plans for service growth.Staff Management
Oversee recruitment, hiring, training, and development of service personnel.Conduct weekly team meetings to align priorities and improve efficiency.Service Operations
Maintain a priority-based schedule for all service work.Allocate jobs based on technician skills and workload.Ensure work orders are complete and accurate before billing.Use reports to monitor and improve performance.Technical Expertise
Oversee trailer repair, maintenance, electrical systems, and welding practices.Manage manufacturer warranty programs.Develop and maintain a local safety program.Customer Relations
Visit customers to assess service needs and ensure satisfaction.Shop & Equipment Management
Ensure availability and maintenance of shop tools and service equipment.Develop service and maintenance plans for vehicles and equipment.Required Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of experience as a service manager.Proven ability to grow a service department.Strong leadership and communication skills.Proficient in reading and creating reports, invoices, and office documents.Comfortable using computer systems.Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.Must be able to read and write in English.High school diploma or GED.Physical Demands
Ability to climb around, on, and under trailers.Frequent standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crawling.Regular sitting and frequent talking or hearing.Use of hands and arms for handling tools and equipment.Ability to lift and move up to 70 lbs.Vision requirements include close, distance, and color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.Operate equipment such as phones, computers, forklifts, yard goats, hand tools, welding equipment, and refrigerated trailers.Work Environment
Operates in a shop environment.Routine use of standard office equipment.Involves shipping and receiving responsibilities.Forklift training and certification provided.About Great Western Trailer
