As a Pediatric Registered Nurse, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.\n\nIn this role, you will report to the Nurse Manager / Clinical Coordinator and will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our younger patients' lives. You may also be required to assist other units based on staffing needs. We are looking for a compassionate and skilled nurse to uphold our standard of care.\n\nResponsibilities\n
- Continuously assess the physical and psychosocial conditions of patients throughout their care journey.\n
- Develop, communicate, and document personalized care plans involving patients, families, and the healthcare team.\n
- Implement and coordinate care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.\n
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and adjust them as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes.\n
- Educate patients and families based on their unique learning needs; document educational outcomes.\n
- Serve as a mentor for new staff and function as a charge nurse when needed.\n
- Meet performance expectations in customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, and professional development.\n
- Perform additional tasks as directed to support smooth departmental operations.\n
- Demonstrate competency in nursing care for neuro patients.\n
- Exhibit knowledge and skills in neuro assessments and airway management for neuro patients.\n
- Provide care for patients with tracheostomies and assist during special neuro procedures.\n
- Display knowledge of the 'Tia' teaching program for patient education.\n
- Perform suctioning procedures as per established protocols.\n
- Manage and care for patients in a Halo brace and those on ventilators.\n\nQualifications\n\nEducation : Graduate of an accredited nursing program, BSN preferred. Proficiency with computer software, including electronic patient records, and internet research for patient care literature is required.\n\nExperience : Not specified.\n\nLicensure : Valid State of Connecticut Registered Nurse License.\n\nSpecial Skills : BLS certification is required.
