Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) night shift assignment requiring at least one year of pediatric nursing experience and an active OK or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

Position is in the Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (Cardio PICU) of a hospital

Care provided to pediatric patients with cardiovascular conditions ranging from simple to complex

Night shift, 12-hour shifts, three days per week

No local candidates accepted; must live more than 50 miles from the facility

Responsibilities include managing and coordinating nursing care for pediatric cardiovascular ICU patients

Will document patient responses and changes, assist physicians with procedures, and administer medications and IV infusions

Expectation to effectively communicate with patients' families and coordinate discharge planning

May delegate tasks to support staff as needed

Must adhere to hospital's policies and procedures regarding patient care and documentation

Requirements

Active RN license from Oklahoma or a multistate compact RN license (eNLC)

Minimum of one year of relevant pediatric nursing experience

Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association

Basic computer skills and the ability to respond to the cultural and language needs of patients
