Building Envelope / Structural Engineer

We are currently seeking an energetic Building Envelope / Structural Engineer, who is passionate about repair and rehabilitation of existing buildings, to work in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. This role will have an emphasis on inspecting historic building facades and / or structural systems of existing buildings, properties, and parking garages. You will be responsible for providing project support from evaluation and design conception through construction. You will be on the ground level of building a department. We are looking for a self-starter who is willing to work a longer workday and is willing to do more to build this new department. This team member would be someone who has a love for historic buildings in and around Philadelphia.

Duties and Responsibilities

General

• Coordinate initial survey meeting and on-site evaluation with the project team members and clients.
• Comfortable with heights and repelling off of buildings in order to complete façade assessment.
• Prepare facade inspection reports for clients explaining existing conditions and repair / rehabilitation recommendations, specifically compliance with Philadelphia's Facade Ordinance and submission to L&I.
• Develop relationships with clients and build a professional network.
• Prepare written correspondence with clients, maintaining clear and professional communication.
• Maintain organized records, files, photos, drawings, and other essential project data.
• Competency in use of a drone or ability to complete drone training.
• Conduct field evaluations, document existing conditions, perform field testing, create photo records, and create field sketches.
• SPRAT Training required or ability to complete SPRAT Training.
