Serve all guests, including walk-ins, in a timely and efficient manner. Collaborate with skin therapists and the retail team to provide a total-store guest experience. Establish professional relationships with peers and brand partners to deliver exceptional guest experience. Share benefits of the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, with guests in the salon and salesfloor. Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development. Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies, procedures, and standards. Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures and comply with state board guidelines. Follow established service protocols to ensure a consistent and exceptional guest experience. Utilize booking and clientele systems to book guests for return services and events. Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager to ensure guest readiness at all times. Maintain outstanding store operational standards, including cleanliness of salon, salesfloor, restrooms, backroom, break area, and any assigned area. Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code. Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices and providing exceptional guest service. Execute other operational tasks as directed. Cosmetology license Previous relevant work experience is required Proficiency with latest salon techniques for haircutting, color, texture, styling, treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing where applicable, and the ability to develop skills across service categories. Proficiency with equipment and chemicals used to perform technical work Proficiency to demonstrate, recommend, and sell professional hair care and makeup products Developed communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele Work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays Continuous mobility during shift Continuous lifting / moving up to 10 lbs during shift Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting during shift Ability to stand for long periods Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shift Seniority level : Not Applicable Employment type : Full-time Job function : Design, Art / Creative, and Information Technology Industries : Retail
Overview
We are seeking a Master Stylist at Ulta Beauty. The Master Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. Delivers quality professional services with an emphasis on the guest's total look and supports the Experience Manager (SM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM) through focus on performance, guest service, and processes. A passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge are required.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Perform hair services including hair design, haircuts, color, texture, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing where applicable.
- Meet or exceed an average weekly hair services sales goal of $1,250 and productivity goals by delivering exceptional guest service and contributing to store goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink as set by Ulta Beauty.
- Demonstrate products to drive sales and guest service experience.
- Support the execution of in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives that deliver an exceptional guest experience.
- Stay informed on new and existing industry trends, products, and services and be knowledgeable about ingredients and benefits to better serve guests.
- Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

Pay range : $20.00 per hour with opportunity for eligible associates to earn services pay under the Services Compensation Plan. Pay is based on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, location, and business needs.
