Overview
The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) is seeking a Law Clerk to assist our transactional group. This position offers a unique opportunity to become directly involved in the broad range of legal and policy matters that arise at a public transit agency. Candidate should have an interest in public law.
Responsibilities
This position is an up to 30 hours per week position depending on the Law Clerk's availability and workload needs, with flexible hours scheduled between 7 : 00 a.m. and 6 : 00 p.m., Monday through Friday. SacRT is open to a hybrid / remote work schedule for this position, with the exact details to be coordinated with the successful applicant.
Minimum Qualifications
No work experience is required; however, it is desirable for candidates to possess general working knowledge of public agency law, including the CPRA, and the Brown Act. In addition, candidate must have the ability to research and analyze law sources to prepare drafts for review, approval, and use by attorneys, as well as excellent writing skills and the ability to draft concise, well-researched opinions, memoranda and various legal documents.
This unique opportunity is being offered to 2nd and 3rd year law students or recent law school graduates waiting for bar results, beginning immediately.
