Overview
Community Medical Services (CMS) is hiring a Substance Abuse Counselor to assist patients recovering from addictions to opioids and other illicit substances. Whether facilitating individual or group sessions, or assisting patients with treatment plans and coping strategies, your work will help foster a safe place for anyone looking to start their recovery journey with us.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling for patients with substance use disorders.
- Assist in developing treatment plans and coping strategies; coordinate care with other recovery and community-based service providers.
- Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments and create individualized treatment plans; ensure regulatory compliance.
- Evaluate treatment effectiveness and modify service plans as needed.
- Coordinate care and perform case management tasks, including referrals and documentation to maintain chart compliance.
- Include family and natural supports in treatment per client preference.
- Maintain knowledge of developments in substance use and stay engaged with other professionals and associations.
- Maintain a thorough client record and serve as a point of contact for coordination with other systems.
- Screen and coordinate primary care services for clients.
Qualifications
Combination of education and licensure levels :High school diploma or GED and active CDCA licenseAssociates degree in Behavioral Science and active LCDC II licenseBachelor's degree in Science and active LCDC III licenseMaster's degree in Behavioral Science and active LICDC licenseBehavioral health experience preferredBenefits
