Nursing Simulation Center Coordinator / Faculty

Essential Responsibilities :

• Provide leadership for learning in the nursing department simulation lab.
• Coordinate simulations to include selecting and / or creating appropriate scenarios with instructor input, student learning objectives, set-up of equipment, moulage, assist instructor with debrief as appropriate, etc.
• Consult with other institutions on simulation techniques and innovations.
• Maintain simulation lab schedule for the nursing department.
• Obtain CHSE certification within 3 years
• Assist with Grant writing for support of simulation and lab equipment and scenarios.
• Safety Days / Skills coordinator for fall skills review by students before the semester begins (yearly)
• Maintain and update simulation lab in collaboration with the Department Chair including but not limited to identifying needed software; lab supply and upgrading equipment needs; troubleshooting issues with equipment / software.
• Coordination with simulation vendors, the Department Chair, and BHC IT for upgrades and repair of simulation mannequins or equipment.
• Collaboration with faculty in the development, implementation, and integration of simulation activities for nursing students.
• Collaborate with Department chair for maintaining inventory of needed equipment, organizing equipment, and ordering of supplies.
• Conduct evaluation of effectiveness of simulation learning.
• Maintain current knowledge in the field of simulation technology and learning theory.
• Maintain the MDS notebook for the ADN lab and simulation suite.
• Complete the hazardous materials teaching for the ADN program faculty.
