Overview
We are seeking a Staff Flight Test Instrumentation Specialist to join a Flight Test Operations team supporting the design, development, and certification of a groundbreaking all-electric aircraft. This role involves instrumentation and testing of the Gen 6 aircraft and contributes to shaping the future of urban air mobility.
What You'll Do
- Install, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation systems on flight test aircraft.
- Support the design of data systems, including sensor selection, to meet certification requirements.
- Perform pre- and post-test checkouts, calibrations, and data processing.
- Assist engineering teams in risk management, ensuring safety and compliance.
- Build, terminate, and install instrumentation wiring harnesses.
- Develop new tools, processes, and procedures to improve instrumentation capabilities.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external partners to minimize risk and optimize testing outcomes.
Qualifications
Required Experience
Proven experience installing, maintaining, and calibrating instrumentation on experimental aircraft.Hands-on experience with sensors (strain gauges, accelerometers, thermocouples, etc.), data telemetry systems, and wiring harnesses.Applied knowledge of instrumenting complex aviation systems.Strong safety awareness and risk management skills.Recognized technical qualifications or equivalent experience.Desired Experience
Exposure to clean-sheet aircraft development programs.Experience with battery-powered aircraft and associated instrumentation.Knowledge of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and / or autonomous flight systems.Familiarity with Safran XMA products.Experience working with FAA, TCCA, or EASA certification processes.Who You Are
