Overview of the Role :

Join a dynamic team at the forefront of America's energy transformation! As a Permit Coordinator, you'll play a crucial role in advancing Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects that power communities nationwide. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge renewable energy technology while building relationships with regulatory authorities and driving sustainable infrastructure development.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Coordinate and manage permit applications for BESS construction projects across multiple jurisdictions
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
  • Track permit status and ensure timely submission of all required documentation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, construction, and project management teams
  • Interpret and apply local building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental requirements
  • Identify potential permitting issues early and develop proactive mitigation strategies
  • Maintain comprehensive records of permit applications, approvals, and communications
  • Attend pre-application meetings with regulatory agencies as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • 3-5 years of experience in corporate environment, preferably in permitting or regulatory compliance
  • Experience with renewable energy, electrical utility, or major infrastructure construction projects preferred
  • Strong understanding of building codes and permitting processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Detail-oriented with excellent documentation capabilities
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex regulatory requirements
