MakerScape is hiring : Remote Environment Artist in San Francisco

My indie studio is making a VR sculpting app called Chisel (you can check it out with the beta link at makerscape.info). Beyond sculpting one of the appeals of the app is to be a relaxing VR space where we can enjoy a moment of calm and contemplation while sculpting.

For this purpose we want to create more environments. Currently there is a workshop and some other basic environments (solid color, floating in the galaxy, simple grid) but we want to create at least one whimsical one.

You do not need a VR headset to work on this (but of course it helps).

You would be commissioned to create a low poly stylized 3D cozy wood clearing in the forest. Think fantasy and whimsical, polycount around 25k triangles and baked lighting. It should have some trees with roots, some low poly bushes and plants, a few lights maybe like lamps or wood fires. Leaning more towards a sunset or night scene. The assets need to be delivered as a Unity scene.

• The timeline is 4-6 weeks from now.
• We pay per project not per hour.
• You will get a line in the credits.
• You will be free to post the work in your portfolio.

If we are satisfied with your work we might commission more environments from you.

En Español : Mi estudio independiente está haciendo una aplicación de escultura VR llamada Chisel (puedes comprobarlo con el enlace beta de makerscape.info). Más allá de la escultura, uno de los atractivos de la aplicación es ser un espacio virtual relajante donde podamos disfrutar de un momento de calma y contemplación mientras esculpimos. Para este propósito queremos crear más ambientes. Actualmente hay un taller y algunos otros entornos básicos (color sólido, flotando en la galaxia, red simple) pero queremos crear al menos uno caprichoso. No necesitas un auricular VR para trabajar en esto (pero por supuesto que ayuda). Te encargarán crear un estilo 3D acogedor de madera bajo estilismo limpiado en el bosque.
