OCC Security Guard / Gate Check Personnel
Project location is at the Kansas City Airport (KCI). The Gate Check Person is responsible for maintaining secure access control at the project site's designated entry point, ensuring compliance with airport security protocols and project access requirements. This role is critical in supporting daily operations while upholding safety and security standards in coordination with airport and construction personnel.
Key Responsibilities :
- Maintain gate access control during active work hours (810 hours / day) on scheduled workdays
- Check all entrants for valid ID badges and proper authorization
- Log all contractor access to the Air Operations Area (AOA)
- Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with AOA access requirements
- Arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of each shift to unlock and set up the gate
- Remain on site until 30 minutes after the last vendor has exited to secure the gate and surrounding area
- Coordinate daily with Airport Security to ensure compliance with all regulations and address any security concerns
- Communicate with the B&R Superintendent and Project Lead to support daily activities and site operations
Requirements :
Prior experience in security, construction access control, or airport operations preferredStrong attention to detail and ability to enforce rules and regulationsExcellent communication and coordination skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionMust pass all required airport security clearances and background checksMust be reliable and punctual, with flexibility for shift adjustments based on project needsAdditional Requirements :
Work Location : This position is based at Kansas City International Airport (MCI) and requires passing a Federal Security Threat Assessment and a Fingerprint Criminal Records Search.Physical Requirements : Must be able to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.Driving Requirements : Use of a company vehicle or driving on client property may be required.
