Must-Have :

• General Med / Tele skillset
• Stroke experience
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Tracheostomy care
• PIV starts
• Chest tube management
• NGT placement
• Drain / tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion / management, etc.)
• PCA pumps
• Medication drip management including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, IV fluids

Description :

RN - MedSurg / Tele position available.

You will provide care in a facility with 207 licensed beds and no trauma designation.

The facility operates as a chest pain center and stroke center.

You will be working in a unit with 16 ED beds and 5 boarding beds.

Travelers will most often be hired as Med / Tele RNs to cover ED holds and will be cross-trained to assist in the ED.

Common patient diagnoses include stroke, CHF, electrolyte imbalances, arrhythmias, respiratory arrest, sepsis, COPD, falls, and motor vehicle collisions.

The patient-to-nurse ratio is a maximum of 1 : 5, depending on patient acuity.

A CNA will assist with a ratio of 1 : 7.

Support is available from certified nursing assistants and a receptionist.

Charge nurses may have designated patient assignments.

Additional support from phlebotomy and an IV / VAT team is available.

A respiratory therapist is on duty 24 / 7.

Hospitalists and intensivists are also available 24 / 7, ensuring comprehensive care.

You will be using an EMR system along with various medical technology and equipment.

Floating may be required based on regional needs, within the appropriate scope of practice.

Weekend rotations will occur every other weekend.

Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays.

Up to 6 days off may be approved, excluding holidays.

Scrub color is navy.
