This description reflects responsibilities and qualifications for an Employment Consultant role. It is an entry position into the field of disability employment services.

What You'll Do

  • Develop service plans for people on your caseload, while consulting with businesses to help develop new jobs.
  • Help employers develop natural supports that work for everyone.
  • Visit job sites to coach participants using positive behavior support techniques.
  • Travel to and between work locations using transportation that meets the needs of the employee.
  • Meet with potential employers to develop customized jobs.
  • Discover client interests and abilities and translate those into paid jobs.
  • Document progress toward goals using cloud-based apps on a cell phone or company-provided Chromebook.
  • Attend planning meetings with clients to set career goals.

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in a related field. One year of disability experience in human services, social work, teaching, psychology, etc. may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to drive for work including a valid driver's license in good standing and proof of auto insurance.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities in a community setting is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Professional, collaborative, and outcome-driven approach.
  • An open and positive approach to life.
  • Comprehensive training in the three-step process of Discovery, Job Development, and Follow-along Coaching will be provided.

  • Competitive pay, $23.33-$24.50 per hour, DOE
