This description reflects responsibilities and qualifications for an Employment Consultant role. It is an entry position into the field of disability employment services.

What You'll Do

Develop service plans for people on your caseload, while consulting with businesses to help develop new jobs.
Help employers develop natural supports that work for everyone.
Visit job sites to coach participants using positive behavior support techniques.
Travel to and between work locations using transportation that meets the needs of the employee.
Meet with potential employers to develop customized jobs.
Discover client interests and abilities and translate those into paid jobs.
Document progress toward goals using cloud-based apps on a cell phone or company-provided Chromebook.
Attend planning meetings with clients to set career goals.

What You'll Bring

Degree in a related field. One year of disability experience in human services, social work, teaching, psychology, etc. may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

Reliable transportation and ability to drive for work including a valid driver's license in good standing and proof of auto insurance.

Experience working with individuals with disabilities in a community setting is preferred.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Professional, collaborative, and outcome-driven approach.

An open and positive approach to life.

Comprehensive training in the three-step process of Discovery, Job Development, and Follow-along Coaching will be provided.

Competitive pay, $23.33-$24.50 per hour, DOE
