Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position with oncology exposure and Epic charting experience required.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a hospital Med / Surg Tele unit specializing in oncology care
  • Patient population includes individuals requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and symptom management related to chemotherapy and soft tissue malignancies
  • Assignment is for 13 to 16 weeks with 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week
  • Nights (19 : 00-07 : 30) with day / night shift option available
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4
  • Required to float to units of equal or lower acuity
  • Utilizes GE telemetry B450 monitors, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds, and bladder scanner
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Role includes managing oncology-related treatment symptoms, comorbidities, and focusing on infection prevention and fall protocols
  • High priority on infection control and preventing patient falls
  • Must complete OH fingerprinting process promptly upon signing contract
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
  • First-time travelers will be considered
  • Candidates must submit all time off requests at the time of application
  • Former employees are eligible if separated for at least 6 months; current employees at Ohio State University hospitals are not eligible

  • Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • BCLS certification required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Previous travel experience preferred
  • Ability to interpret dysrhythmias, access ports, manage arterial lines and central lines, administer blood products, manage PICC lines, start IVs, assist with chest tube procedures, use high flow nasal cannula, and interpret ABGs
  • Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required
  • Must provide 2 professional references, with at least 1 from a supervisor, manager, or director
