Overview
Associate Reporter, Social Newsgathering - NBC News
We are looking for a bright, proactive and ambitious Associate Reporter to be a part of the NBC News Social Newsgathering Team. This candidate will be tasked with finding and verifying visual content and information online to support storytelling across all NBC News platforms.
Responsibilities
- Monitor social media platforms for breaking, feature and trending news stories
- Interview eyewitnesses for breaking news stories
- Find, verify and report on user-generated content (UGC)
- Analyze visual content for signs of inauthenticity or manipulation
- Publish daily team digest reports for internal distribution throughout NBC News
- Collaborate with NBC News digital, TV and streaming units on newsgathering, social media and storytelling projects

The position is eligible for company-sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and other perks listed on NBCUniversal’s Careers Benefits page. Salary range : $65,000 - $85,000.
