Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with strong neuro experience and proficiency in Epic for a night shift contract requiring a VA or compact RN license.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the ICU with a patient population that includes neurosurgical, post-stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis, MODS, and heart failure cases
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 2-3
  • Responsibilities include vent management, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, dysrhythmia, and emergency management
  • Must be willing to float to Stepdown Unit and may also float to ED or MedSurg for ICU holds
  • Schedule includes 4x12 hour night shifts, weekends, and holiday coverage during contract
  • Epic EMR proficiency required
  • Care for complex neuro and critical care patients with a range of acute diagnoses
  • Provide coverage for holidays and weekends as required by the contract
  • Complete required pre-start online modules (three hours)
  • Facility is unable to accommodate PAPR; all respiratory fit testing issues will exclude candidates
  • Two professional references are required for consideration
  • Candidates with previous fit test failures may not be considered
  • RTO requests must be submitted at application and will be reviewed individually
  • Travel RN experience is preferred but not required

  • Active VA or compact RN license in hand at time of application
  • Minimum 3 years of critical care experience preferred; strong candidates with less will be considered
  • Current certifications from AHA : BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Strong neuro ICU experience required, including post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke care
  • Must be proficient in Epic charting
  • No prior license or background history of disciplinary action or criminal record
  • Must pass EKG testing with 80% or higher on first attempt with no remediation allowed
  • Must have a valid driver's license for address verification; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
