Dollar General, a company that has been delivering value to shoppers for over 80 years, is looking for a dedicated individual to function as a cashier and / or stocker. The role will involve assisting in setting and maintaining plan-o-grams and programs, providing exemplary customer service, and performing other duties to maximize profitability, customer satisfaction, and teamwork while protecting company assets and reducing losses.
Duties and essential job functions include unloading trucks, stocking merchandise, restocking returned and recovered merchandise, assisting in plan-o-gram implementation, and maintaining store cleanliness. The position also requires operating cash registers, handling cash, and ensuring a safe and secure working and shopping environment. In the absence of the store manager or assistant store manager, the role involves authorizing refunds, counting register, making bank deposits, and monitoring cash levels.
Qualifications include the ability to perform mathematical calculations, knowledge of cash handling procedures, effective communication skills, and understanding of safety policies and practices. A high school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience / training) are preferred. Working conditions involve frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 40 pounds, occasional climbing, and exposure to a fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels.
