Electronic Resources Management Librarian Job at University of North Carolina Sc

Reporting to the Head of Cataloging and Metadata Services, the Electronic Resources Librarian manages and supports the entire lifecycle of electronic resources for the Library and Learning Commons including the acquisition, licensing, troubleshooting, and assessment of e-books, electronic journals, DDA plan, and databases. This position will work closely with colleagues to implement and maintain access to electronic resources and be the expert for issues related to access. The Electronic Resources Librarian collects usage data and creates reports for resource cancellations and / or renewal decisions. In collaboration with colleagues, this position will have a strong role in evaluating and developing workflows, policies, and procedures around electronic resources management.

Primary Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and select new resources. Participate in initiating trials and negotiating licensing agreements. Maintain license agreements in Alma ILS. Maintain subscriptions and participate in the evaluation for renewal / cancellation.
• Maintains list of entitlements and ensures reliable access to electronic resources through the library’s Primo VE discovery system and A-Z list.
• Troubleshoots access problems, analyzes root causes, and resolves issues with vendor, proxy, campus IT department, or ILS as needed.
• Collect usage statistics and prepare analyses to use in collection assessment and development activities.
