Description :
This is a high-acuity Cath Lab position.
The Cath Lab performs between 24-40 cases a day.
Patient population includes adults only; no pediatric cases.
Cases include diagnostic and interventional procedures, RHC, LHC, STEMI / NSTEMI, CTO, valvuloplasty, cardiomems, biopsies, atherectomies, staged PCI, IABP, Impella, and ECMO (preferred).
Peripheral diagnostic and interventional cases are also part of the workload, along with some fistulograms.
Hybrid experience is preferred but not required.
Common hybrid procedures include AAA grafts, thoracic grafts, clips, TAVRs, and Watchman placements.
Patient ratios are 1 : 1.
Required certifications include BLS and ACLS for all roles.
NIHSS certification is preferred for RNs.
RTRs require a state license and RCIS certification is preferred.
Permanent staff will monitor cases during procedures.
Support staff on the unit includes housekeeping and storeroom staff to manage supplies.
Transport services are available during the day, along with reception and charge nurse support.
RT staff are available 24 / 7 to manage ventilation for patients in the lab.
There is cardiology support in-house around the clock.
A critical response team will be available for emergency codes.
The charting system used is EPIC.
Additional equipment includes C-arms, Volcano systems, St. Jude products, Alphavac, Angiovac, EKOS, and Anari (experience not required).
Hemodynamic monitoring is done using GE Pruka (Maclab), and PACS systems are Fuji and ProSolv.
Call schedule may include weekends.
Call days will have a shift from noon to 8 : 30 PM.
There is a 30-minute response time for calls.
Travelers will not typically work holidays.
Fatigue policies are in place to limit work hours and consecutive shifts.
Scrub colors will be provided.
