EDM Programmer with VMC Experience

Middletown, DE

Overview : Our client is seeking a skilled EDM Programmer with strong wire EDM expertise and VMC programming experience. This role involves programming, setting up, and operating wire EDM machines primarily, with support on vertical machining centers to produce precision metal components meeting tight tolerances.

Job Duties :

  • Program, set-up, and operate wire EDM machines for precision machining
  • Support programming and operation for vertical machining centers (VMC)
  • Interpret blueprints and apply GD&T standards
  • Optimize machine parameters such as tooling, speeds, feeds, and cutting strategies
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to troubleshoot and enhance processes
  • Conduct routine maintenance and ensure CNC / EDM equipment calibrations
  • Document job setups and maintain accurate production records in line with ISO-like quality control protocols

Job Requirements :

  • 3+ years of experience with hands-on Wire EDM programming & operation
  • Experience with VMC programming and operation preferred
  • Proficient reading of blueprints and applying GD&T
  • Familiarity with CAD / CAM software for CNC programming
  • Knowledge of inspection methods and measuring equipment
