job_description.job_card.job_descriptionBachelor's degree in an Engineering-oriented discipline (preferably a BS in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering). FE / EIT or obtain EIT within a year of their hire. Basic Geotechnical Engineering experience. Knowledge of soil mechanics, bearing capacity, settlement Professional experience working on construction projects; ideally, this person is capable of coordinating and overseeing field-based construction inspection operations. Experience with observing and documenting construction activities (e.g. : concrete placement, deep & shallow foundation construction, earthwork, infiltration testing, basic survey & layout activity, test pits, test borings, etc.). Proficiency on standard office software applications, especially Microsoft Office 365 (including Word, Excel, and Outlook). Familiarity with engineering tools (e.g. : geotechnical engineering software, CADD, etc.); exposure to AutoCAD and / or gINT is a plus! Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with minimal supervision while displaying a positive attitude. Excellent organizational skills : this person will be expected to multi-task / prioritize multiple assignments effectively in order to proactively balance their workload while meeting deadlines. Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).

We are hiring for a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join our team on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Newark, DE.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist Engineers with the execution of multiple concurrent geotechnical projects.
- Work with internal clients (Staff Engineers, Geologists, Designers, etc.) while also coordinating efforts with external customers (clients, drilling subcontractors, etc.) to ensure effective workflow.
- Work with Field staff as well as coordinating with clients & contractors during construction.
- Perform construction observation and materials testing
- Perform geotechnical field explorations (test borings, test pits, infiltration testing, etc.)
- Assist with / perform geotechnical engineering investigations; this involves preparing reports and developing recommendations.
- Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.
Basic Requirements
This person will be expected to work regularly in the field, so they will be required to possess a Valid Driver's License as well as Reliable Transportation.
