Role Overview
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for critical component development, quality management, continuous improvement, qualification activities at suppliers, and managing the incoming quality program. The role requires effective communication with internal and external teams, conducting failure analysis, leading statistical process control activities for critical components, process development, First Article Inspection planning and execution, and on-the-spot critical decision making.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive improvements utilizing Lean methodologies, Statistical Process Control, scorecards, ensuring supplier compliance, and driving systematic problem solving and process improvement plans.
- Set priorities for cross-functional teams and suppliers based on performance and business needs.
- Develop positive relationships and work closely with the Supply Chain Team to manage, implement, and track supplier / engineering, design changes, capacity studies, and New Product Introductions.
- Plan and execute First Article Inspections and develop, implement, and manage incoming quality processes.
- Track and manage Supplier Correct Action Request processes, working closely with Supply Chain and suppliers.
- Provide leadership during investigations of major problems or special projects focusing on supplier development and improvement.
- Perform root cause analysis, coordinate, and conduct specialized testing and measurement.
- Assess supplier qualifications and monitor supplier performance.
- Stay updated on manufacturing and engineering trends related to product quality.
Qualifications
Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials Engineering, or equivalent experience.Six Sigma or ASQ certification preferred.Experience with Quality Systems and PPAP / APQP processes preferred.In-depth knowledge of GD&T, sampling inspection, and statistics.Leadership abilities and experience managing safety-critical parts.Effective communication skills to manage supplier activities and meet customer requirements.Project management skills.Benefits
