  • General Information
  • Beds : 260-280; Daily census 250-260
  • Patient Types : Highly Progressive / Acute Respiratory Care - Adult Critical Care, Pediatric Critical Care, Neonatal Critical Care, and general inpatient respiratory care
  • Busy, fast-paced department
  • Support on the Unit : Charge RT / Respiratory Clinical Specialist 24 / 7, Supervisors, Manager, Director
  • Charting System : EPIC (required)
  • Equipment : Ventilators : Draeger V500 and Savina 300, 3100A Oscillator, Servo-I MRI, Hamilton C1, ResMed APAP, CPAP, Bi-level, Airvo2 High flow devices, Cough Assist, Incourage vest, ABL90 Blood gas machines, IPV, Praxair iNO
  • Floating : RT Coverage throughout hospital and ED
  • Orientation : Rapid City Hospital, Respiratory Care Department

    • Job Requirements

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist – RRT required
  • South Dakota RCP License (SDBMOE.gov) – prior to submittal – takes 30 days
  • BLS, ACLS
  • AA Degree
  • Critical Care, General respiratory care experience

    • Schedule Information

  • Weekend rotation : Every other
  • Home Health Call : every other week - Business hours are 0800-1730, call hours are 1730-0800 and weekends / holidays
  • Spearfish : 1am-6am – 3 days per week
  • Holiday Expectations : Work on holidays that fall within contract dates
  • Approval of time off? up to 7 days, must extend contract if taking a full week off; no RTO during Sturgis Bike Rally – first 3 weeks of August
