Security Officer - Retail Patrol

As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol in Fort Lauderdale, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail / Malls, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a retail or mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and create a welcoming environment for visitors and staff. Your presence and proactive communication will support a positive experience while upholding our values of reliability, teamwork, and integrity. You will play a key role in providing exceptional customer service and helping to maintain a secure atmosphere, all while being part of a company that puts people first and values innovation.

Pay Rate : $13.75 / Hour

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail or mall location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity, hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials, and / or directing visitors as needed.
  • Collaborate with Allied Universal team members and location staff to support security-related operations and customer service initiatives.
  • Document all incidents, observations, and activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
