Join Our Team as an Outside Sales Engineer – southeastern United States

Applied Test Systems, a leading Butler, PA manufacturer specializing in Materials Testing and Process Heating Equipment, is actively seeking a motivated and dynamic Outside Sales Engineer for the southeastern United States. This is an exceptional opportunity for candidates located within the sales territory to take on a pivotal role in a thriving company.

As an Outside Sales Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of driving growth, managing existing client accounts, and expanding our customer base through proactive lead generation, follow-up, and direct sales. You'll have the chance to work closely with our expert sales team, traveling regularly to customer sites to assess their equipment needs, deliver engaging sales presentations, and conduct hands-on product demonstrations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and manage strong relationships with current customers while actively generating new business.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, utilizing your technical knowledge to meet customer needs and solve problems effectively.
  • Regular travel (approximately 75%) to meet with clients and prospects.
  • Collaborate with experienced sales engineers and receive comprehensive training to ensure success.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and guide customers through tailored solutions.
  • Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • A 2- or 4-year degree, with a preference for technical backgrounds.
  • 2+ years of experience in technical sales, either inside or outside.
  • A customer-first mindset, outstanding problem-solving skills, and solid computer and internet proficiency.
  • Microsoft Office skills are a must.
  • Experience with laboratory testing equipment sales is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce is a bonus.
  • Knowledge of material testing is an advantage.
