Mold Technician

Pay $18-24 / hr.

Mold Technician Summary :

Responsible for the setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of molds used in plastic and rubber production. Ensures molds run efficiently, meet quality standards, and support smooth production operations.

Mold Technician Responsibilities :

  • Set up, change, and remove molds according to production schedules.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, including cleaning, inspection, and part replacement.
  • Diagnose and correct issues such as flash, short shots, or part sticking.
  • Complete minor repairs using hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Record maintenance and repair activities accurately.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on mold improvements.
  • Inspect molds for damage or wear before and after use.
  • Follow all safety, lockout / tagout, and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized mold area.
  • Support operator training and continuous improvement efforts.

Mold Technician Requirements :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
  • 3+ years of mold or tool & die experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools.
  • Basic computer and documentation skills.
  • Welding, grinding, or machining experience a plus.
