Summary :

Medical Assistants are key members of the health care delivery team responsible for flow of patients through the clinic. This role will work directly with a Family Medicine / OB Clinician. Duties include, but are not limited to : rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, administering injections, patient chart review, and assisting with minor procedures. Other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.

Typical Schedule :

  • Scheduled 4 days / week, with one late night per week.

Qualifications :

  • Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or RMA,LPN or EMT, required.
  • CMA, CCMA, RMA, or WI LPN licensure, required.
  • CPR certification, required.
  • Minimum of one year of full-time employment in Family Practice, preferred.
  • Prior experience with electronic medical records, preferred.
  • Responsibilities include :

  • Completing pre-visit planning based on OMC policy and procedure.
  • Taking and recording patient vital signs in the electronic health record system.
  • Taking notes during patient visits and documenting them in the electronic health record system.
  • Learning about the medical process and using a team approach in patient supervision and documentation.
  • Assisting the clinician with sterile and nonsterile procedures.
  • Continuing outreach to patients with overdue preventative care needs.
  • Assisting with medication prescription process.
  • Placing future orders for lab and imaging.
  • Keeping exam room stocked with adequate medical supplies.
  • Preparing procedure and exam rooms for patient examinations
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Critical thinking skills (foresight to pre planning of visits).
  • Exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and handle multiple tasks / projects concurrently.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and electronic medical records.
  • Maintain the integrity of highly confidential business information.
  • Display and promote high standards of ethical conduct and behaviors consistent with organizational standards
