Bookkeeper
We are looking for a detail-oriented bookkeeper to join our team in Mill Valley, California. This contract-to-permanent position offers the opportunity to work in the dynamic retail food store industry, ensuring accurate financial records and supporting essential accounting functions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in bookkeeping and accounting practices, along with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities :
- Compile and analyze data from sales reports to maintain accurate financial records.
- Support the VP of finance with full-cycle accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
- Prepare detailed reports on sales, distribution, usage, and other financial metrics using company data.
- Reconcile bank accounts and maintain accurate tracking of transactions, expenses, and account balances.
- Monitor and update inventory records, ensuring timely and precise reporting of periodic and perpetual schedules.
- Conduct internal audits and coordinate with external auditors to verify the accuracy of company records.
- Take on additional projects as assigned to support business operations and financial goals.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in accounting or business with equivalent accounting experience.Comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).At least 7 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping roles with attention to detail.Minimum of 2 years of experience working collaboratively within team settings.Proficiency in bookkeeping software, including QuickBooks.Demonstrated expertise in managing accounts payable and receivable processes.Strong ability to perform accurate bank reconciliations and manage financial transactions effectively.
